A new opening of the Unexpected Photo Essay: for the Festival Paris Banlieues Tango

If you did not have a chance to check “The Unexpected Photo Essay on Cortázar” during its previous exhibitions, the images will be displayed once again for the next few weeks as part of the Festival Paris Banlieues Tango 2014 edition.

For the first time the photos will be surrounded by books, as they will be exhibit in a bookstore. The perfect place to mix the world of Argentine writer Julio Cortázar and his readers.

The opening will be on Tuesday October 14th, at 7pm (19:00). In Palimpseste bookstore. 16 rue Santeuil, 75005 Paris, M° Censier-Daubenton.

You can visit it from Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm and on Saturday from 11am to 6pm. Up until November 10th!

What is this “Unexpected Photo Essay on Cortázar”?

The story is a series of portraits, taken in Paris, of friends and readers of Argentine writer Julio Cortázar.

Each of the 70 participants had to choose a passage of the book Hopscotch that mentions a place in Paris. I then took a portrait of them in the chosen site, and asked them to briefly explain why they preferred it over others.
